Sarawak is known for its rich biodiversity and favorable climate which makes it the perfect hub for spice cultivation. The state's diverse flora provides an ideal environment for the growth of various spices and herbs such as the famous Sarawakian black pepper, cinnamon, cardamom, turmeric, and galangal. You can find some of the famous local brands such as Sarawak Produces Industries Company (SPIC), SaraSpice.
FUN FACT, Sarawak is among the world's five leading producers of pepper with an annual production of 25,000 metric tonnes.

Sarawak is well associated with timber production as it is one of the major timber-producing states in Malaysia. The state's vast rainforests are home to a variety of timber species such as Belian (Eusideroxylon zwageri), Meranti (Shorea spp), and Mengkulang (Heritiera spp). Some of the renowned timber companies are such as Samling Timber, Rimbunan Hijau Group, and Shin Yang. These timbers are widely used in building structures and delicate handcraft pieces.

Gold rush! Blessed with its diverse ecosystem, tropical climate, and biodiversity, Sarawak has an abundance of mineral resources ranging from metallic and non-metallic such as coal, bauxite, limestone, silica sand, and even gold.
